Want to Donate?
The donation form will officially open in June, but that means it's time to start getting ready:
- Sign up for notifications so you know when the list is open.
- Make sure you have great pictures of your items. We'll take up to four, and prefer them to be square.
- Start working on your descriptions. Really hype yourself up. You're amazing!
- Follow us on Bluesky, and send us pictures of what you're working on so we can hype you up, too!
What sort of things do we accept?
While Romancing the Vote was started by romance authors & readers, we also have a tremendous community of crafters, creatives, and experts! Here are only a few of our most popular auction items from past years.
We have two types of donations: Auction Items, and Buy it Nows. Auction Items are for unique items or experiences. Bidders will fight it out over the course of the entire auction, and whoever has bid the highest
by the end wins! Buy it Nows are a set of identical items (10 copies of a book, 20 copies of a fidget toy) that we put a set price on. Once they become available, they are first come, first served.
We like to have a solid mix of Auction Items and Buy it Nows. When the bidding gets too high on auction items, Buy it Nows still give our participants a chance to score something cool at a lower price, and help
democracy!
Books & Swag
Autographed, annotated, special editions... readers love books! Bundle them up with merch for a special auction, or unload your author copies by offering 10 copies as a Buy it Now! Got special edition TV or Movie merch? We want it!
Arts & Crafts
Quilting, knitting, sewing, water color, pottery, woodcarving... if you can create it, we want it! Crafters are a huge part of the auction every year, and bidders fight to the death over their art!
Services
Are you a web designer? An artist? Can you format ebooks or make a gorgeous logo or create the perfect character art? Can you help someone with their taxes, or build them a custom spreadsheet? We want your skills!
Chats & consultations
Expert consultations are among our most popular items every year. Screenwriters offer script reads. Authors offer critiques. Agents give advice on queries and scientists help us all learn more about the world.
